Strawberries are everywhere these days and so beautiful. We love using them in new and interesting ways like this fun idea for bruschetta – its sure to be a crowd pleaser!
We’ve use basil for garnish on this pretty toast. It adds a spicy herbal flavor to the appetizer. Basil contains very little protein but has an abundant amount of vitamin A. It also has vitamin C, vitamin K and folate. It is rich in minerals providing calcium, iron, magnesium, and phosphorous.
Basil has had many medicinal uses since the early ages. The components present in basil help fight many diseases and help build immunity. There has been a lot of research to scientifically understand its benefits.
Strawberry Pistachio and Ricotta Toast with Basil
- 1 Loaf Ciabatta, sliced thinly into 1-inch pieces
- 2 Cups Parst Skim Ricotta
- 16 OZ Package Strawberries, stemmed and sliced thinly
- 1 Cup Chopped Pistachios
- ½ Cup Honey
- Basil for Garnish
Toast the ciabatta until firm and allow to cool. On a serving plate, loosely spread the ricotta on the bread slices. Top with slices of strawberry and pistachios. Drizzle with honey and top with the basil.
