Memorial day was the kickoff to summer – and we see lots of yummy picnics, patio parties and potlucks ahead! This is a dip we love to share – black bean goodness and the yummy creaminess of avocado.
Although garlic isn’t techinically an herb – we often think of it as such. Garlic is essential to this dip, developing more flavor as the hummus sits around. Garlic is a potent flavor enhancer as well as a nutrition superstar! Garlic has many anti-inflammatory properties including an enzyme called allicin. It is responsible for garlic’s strong odor and amazing benefits! While the smell may be offensive to some, many people love the ethnicity of the scent, especially tossed on top of their favorite dish.
Researchers have conducted studies regarding allicin’s ability to fight certain pathogens. That is why garlic is an effective natural antibiotic that kills certain pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and fungus.
This great hummus gives many health benefits and great flavor that anyone at a potluck meal this summer will love.
