Eating clean and fresh
We had a few warm days recently in Atlanta and I was filled with spring fever! Whenever I am outside hiking with my family or gardening, it inspires me to cook a colorful and healthy meal that evening. It seems fresh, clean air must inspire me! A client recently asked how to eat “clean and fresh”—–what a great question. My new found love is Clean Eating Magazine and they describe it in a perfect way. They say “the soul of eating clean is consuming food in the most natural state. It is not a diet, it is a lifestyle approach to food and its preparation, leading to an improved life –one meal at a time.” So I ask you, are you eating clean? Below are some tips on working on clean eating. And if time (and weather allows!) go out and take a walk and feel inspired.
- Eat small, mini meals throughout the day.
- Be a label detective.
- Limit processed/refined foods.
- Reduce your carbon footprint.
- Slow down and savor your food.
- Be aware of portion sizes.
- Eat at home and try new recipes.
