We are thrilled to invite you to a Food and Wine Adventure in Northern Italy this Fall!

We don’t believe in over-scheduling you; transit time and hotel transfers are kept to an absolute minimum. You’ll have plenty of free time to explore at your own pace. But no worries, we’ll make sure to take care of you all along the way!

Dates: September 25 – October 2, 2019

Location: Arrive Milan’s Malpensa Airport depart from Venice
Two nights in Verona – Two nights in Modena
Two nights in a winery/agriturismo – One night in Venice

Cost: $3,800 pp/double occupancy – $400 single supplement.

Includes: Ground transportation, hotel rooms, all breakfasts, 6 dinners, 6 lunches, all winery visits, tastings, admission fees, etc. Airfare is not included.

Deadline: $1,000 pp deposit due by May 1st.

Day 1 – September 25 Wednesday
Arrival in Milan, where we will greet you with our luxury van at the airport. First stop, Franciacorta where the owners will host us for a winery visit and lunch. On to Verona – fun Dinner in an authentic pizzeria and a two night stay in the historic region.

Day 2– September 26 Thursday
Wine tasting day in Valpolicella! Lunch in Negrar and Wine tasting at THREE contrasting wineries for a full immersion experience of the wines. One of the Veneto’s most famous bakeries will give us a behind-the-scenes tour and tasting. We’ll end the evening with a regionally focused dinner and wine pairing.

Day 3– September 27 Friday
Tortelli making at a fabulous local restaurant. You’ll get hands-on with the pasta making and then enjoy the fruits of your labor with wine at lunch. Afternoon walk in Verona, guided by Demet Then drive and dinner in Modena at one of the oldest butcher shops in Italy along with a 2-night stay in Modena.

Day 4 – September 28 Saturday
We’re visiting a Parmegiano Reggiano producer, Prosciutto producer, and Balsamic vinegar producer today. Afternoon in Modena to taste, tour and shop.

Day 5– September 29 Sunday
Drive to Valdobbiadene through Padua stopping for a delicious lunch and a tour with a dinner featuring local specialties before a two-night stay in one of our favorite winery/agriturismo.

Day 6– September 30 Monday
On the Prosecco road – Tasting at 2 wineries and an incredible lunch and dinner with everyone’s favorite sparkler!

Day 7– October 1 Tuesday
Drive to Venice and a celebration lunch – you’ll have the afternoon to explore and enjoy a light dinner on your own.

Day 8– October 2 Wednesday
Departure from Venice airport via water taxi.

 

Demet Guzey writes about food history and culinary travel, lecture on Food Writing at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, and teach Food and Culture at USAC Verona. She has a Ph.D. from University of Massachusetts, a Diploma in Gastronomy from University of Reims, and a Level 2 certificate from WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust). Demet lives with her husband in Verona Italy and hosts frequent courses in the area.
